DAWN HERSHIK

Dawn Hershik is the owner of DECO Accounting Services, a Naperville-based firm focused on helping businesses stay organized, informed and financially confident by providing bookkeeping through Controller services. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills and dedication to delivering on time, Dawn leads the firm with a hands-on, client-focused approach.
Before founding DECO Accounting Services, Dawn built a successful 29-year career at Nissan Motor Corporation, where she managed complex vehicle distribution and regional production forecasting for the Midwest Region. She was responsible for processing and analyzing high-volume vehicle allocations – up to 40,000 units per month! – and was recognized for streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing dealer satisfaction. Her work frequently involved cross-functional collaboration, legal compliance and dealership training.
Dawn brings a unique blend of operational savvy and customer service expertise to DECO. She has strong technical proficiency, including advanced spreadsheet functions and is known for her analytical thinking and team-first mindset.
A graduate of Northwood University with a BBA in Management, Dawn now leads DECO Accounting Services with a mission to provide clear, timely, and proactive support for clients – giving business owners peace of mind.
Outside of work, Dawn enjoys staying connected to her community and spending time with family. She is passionate about helping others succeed – and that energy is at the heart of everything DECO Accounting Services delivers.
ELLIOT HERSHIK
Elliot Hershik brings over three decades of accounting and operational leadership to his role as General Manager at DECO Accounting Services. Since 2015, he has specialized in managing a team of professional Accountants who work on our clients financial accounting (A/R and A/P processing, journal entries, account reconciliations, and time and expense billing) and Controller activities (month-end close, cash flow analysis and financial reporting). He ensures every client engagement is completed efficiently, accurately and on time. His efforts have seen DECO win awards for our work with our clients.
Throughout his career, Elliot has held leadership positions across a wide range of industries, including distribution, and technology. At Nissan North America, he supervised high-performing teams in customer service, inventory control and billing, managing a $28 million inventory across two facilities. He also spearheaded safety compliance, SAP rollout initiatives, facility re-design and performance analytics reporting.
While he was an undergrad, Elliot worked as a bookkeeper for the university. He later worked as a bookkeeper for a food manufacturer and then began his accounting career with Friedman, Eisenstein, Raemer and Schwartz (FERS), contributing to audit efficiency and AR performance. Other prior roles include Accounting Manager implementing cost-saving initiatives and improved cash flow and Financial Statement Preparer refining AR/AP processes and enhanced reporting systems.
Elliot passed the CPA exam in Illinois in 1992 and is a graduate of Cornell University with a BA in Economics. Elliot served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps with several international deployments.
Outside of work, he’s dedicated over 20 years to coaching youth rugby, bringing the same values of discipline, teamwork and accountability to the field as he does to his clients.
